In the video 05 Walter Cronkite’s Brain [079] [SCTV – Seasons 4 & 5], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it braodcast by CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by Dave Thomas. It was born originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh at silly Canadian content statutes, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The brothers soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
