Bob and Doug McKenzie in 12 Days of Christmas 2011

In the video 12 Days of Christmas 2011, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by actor Dave Thomas. It was made originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh at annoying Canadian content laws, the siblings morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The characters enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
