Bob and Doug McKenzie in 12 Days of Christmas

In the video 12 Days of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as an idea to both please and mock annoying Canadian content rules, the two morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
