In the video 12 Days of Christmas Film — Day 8 — National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it got sent to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s partThe character Bob is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as fluff to both satisfy and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content demands, the duo grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The characters later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
