Bob is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a sketch to both fulfill and make fun of dumb Canadian content guidelines, the characters turned into a pop culture success in both Canada and the United States.
