Bob and Doug McKenzie in 12 Days of Christmas

In the video 12 Days of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on SCTV for the show’s third season when it aired by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content statutes, the siblings became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The characters soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
