Who did the Leafs play that night? Oh & I wish the logo for "The Leafs on CHCH" featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs logo should've been used at the beginning of some games from earlier that year. Despite a bad year, the Leafs on CHCH were awesome.
Best song ever
Why am I remembering 6 Sutter Boys instead of Super Setups?
I thought I heard one with 6 Sutter Brothers.
I finally got the intro to CHCH's broadcasts of the Leafs that year, but I don't find it that good since it has no Toronto Maple Leafs logo in it.
the 2nd day with Don Koharski could have been two Schoenfeld donuts…lol
Best song ever
dam if only wayne scored on that play
Wayne Gretzky is the best player that ever lived.
Great video but there is a huge mistake in it. Showing the Islanders for the line "5 Stanley Cups" is inaccurate since their streak stopped at 4. They did get all the way back to the finals though and as much as I hate them, that is an incredible feat.
best song ever
dam why didnt he score in that last play
gretzky sucks he didnt even score on that last play
best song ever
Best Christmas song ever! Where can I find the lyrics?
I remember when this came out and I remember watching it. I was in grade 9. December 1987, about 5 days before Christmas Day. Awesome. Shown during the 1st intermission during a Leaf game between Detroit. I was trying vainly to write down all the 12 days, but managed getting only 6 of them. Forgot the rest. Thanks for the memories. Good times.
Were there different versions? I seem to remember 4 spin-a-ramas, 3 hat tricks, 2 penalty minutes
Gretszky 99 /Nice
5 stanley cups!
For all you hockey fans out there. The Twelve days of Hockey! 80's style! 😉
Thanks for posting this.I haven't seen it since 1990!!!
This is awesome!!!!!!
OMG I still remember as a kid racing around and throwing in a VHS tape around the 8th day of Christmas. Blast from the past! Thanks for sharing!!!
I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there was a playoff montage video between the leafs and rhe redwings to the song "All I need is a miracle" sure wish I could rewatch that beauty…
leafs lost that game seven series though…they didn't get their miracle 🙁
It was "6 super set-ups" in this version from 1987. But in an earlier version from 1983-84, it was 6 Sutter Brothers. I remember that.
Not when it aired. When it aired I always remembered it with 6 super set ups.
You're right, it's time to update this video. But there's something about this one that appeals to me personally because I grew up watching hockey in that era. Great memories of 80's hockey.
To the person who commented that this video originally had the 6 Sutter brothers on the 6th day (instead of Mario):
Firstly, I deleted your comment by accident. I apologize (I clicked in the wrong spot).
Secondly, you're absolutely right! The video you're alluding to was the ORIGINAL "12 days" video, which was aired in the 1983-84 season in the Islanders "Drive for 5" season. It did feature the Sutter bros, plus the 5th day showed only the Islanders carrying the cup (not the Oilers or Habs).
Thanks Rico! It seems this video has received a great reception since I posted the link on HTR. Over 1200 hits in the past 5 days!
Anyway, glad you enjoyed it, bud. Merry X-mas!
