In the video 12 Days of MK Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a show which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by actor Dave Thomas. Which was created originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh at dumb Canadian content statutes, the two became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The two soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
