In the video 12 stds of christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of imaginaryfunny Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s part is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously developed originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh about network Canadian content policies, the duo grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The characters later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
