In the video 14 Hefty [014] [SCTV – Season 1], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian siblings who can been seen in “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s part is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh at legal Canadian content laws, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The two became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
