In the video 15 Purple Shadows – Twelve Days of Christmas (Bob and Doug) – Purple Christmas Benefit 2022.12.23, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s part is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as a sketch to both fulfill and make fun of silly Canadian content policies, the pair transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the United States. The pair later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
