In the video 19 Bob & Doug Wraparound [093] [Seasons 4 & 5], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was aired on second city television for the show’s third season when it moved to CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was born originally as a sketch to both please and mock annoying Canadian content rules, the duo transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The two later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Such a great song – love love love Ian Thomas! I probably didn’t appreciate this episode and his performance back when I was a kid though. Loved Bob & Doug though and I even saw “Strange Brew” in the theatre.
Ian was also Dougie Franklin from the Red Green Show. Dave made a couple of appearances on it as well!
