Bob and Doug McKenzie in 1986 Canadian commercial – Ontario Racing – Dave Thomas

In the video 1986 Canadian commercial – Ontario Racing – Dave Thomas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was shown on second city television for the show’s third season when it moved to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Which was created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh about dumb Canadian content statutes, the two morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
