In the video 1986 – Ontario Racing – Cathrine O’Hara & Dave Thomas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a sketch which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sold to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was brought to life originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and make fun of silly Canadian content laws, the duo turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The two later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
