In the video 1997 – Bob and Doug McKenzie Beer Commercial, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s third season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was born originally as fluff to both fulfill and mock silly Canadian content demands, the two turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings went on to become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
