In the video 39 The Nutty Lab Assistant [113] [Seasons 4 & 5], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a joke to both please and make fun of silly Canadian content laws, the duo grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
