In the video 55 Liberace’s Musical Salute To The Holidays [129] [Seasons 4 & 5], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian family members who created “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s part is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and mock legal Canadian content demands, the brothers morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The brothers became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
These videos are in no way meant to replace the purchasing of commercially produced DVDs of SCTV. Making this series available is in no way meant to break copyright law. I am hoping fans of the series will have renewed interest in SCTV and will spread the word about this Classic Canadian Comedy Legend.

At the very end of the Liberace sketch, he thanks Luigi Specca for that feathery Santa outfit. Luigi was the owner and chief designer at Malabar, the costume house (on McCaul St, just north of Queen) that provided many of the costumes for SCTV.
Luigi also sang in a group (Toronto Operetta Theatre?) with Pasquale, the singing chef, who was the inspiration for Tony Rosato's Marcello Sebastiano.
