In the video 61 Midnight Cowboy II [135] [Seasons 4 & 5], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s part is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as an idea to both satisfy and makes jokes about silly Canadian content laws, the two turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The characters later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
