In the video 80s actors who just disappeared Part 1 #hollywood #shorts, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s third season when it got sold to CBC Television in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is played by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a skit to both fulfill and mock non sensical Canadian content legislation, the pair grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
