In the video A Christmas Message from Richard Dreyfuss (Rick Moranis), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on second city television for the show’s third season when it streamed by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as a skit to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about silly Canadian content rules, the two grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The brothers soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
