Bob’s character is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as a joke to both please and mock non sensical Canadian content rules, the pair transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
