Bob’s character is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as a skit to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about silly Canadian content demands, the brothers turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the United States. The two soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
