In the video Alimentando a la planta | “Little Shop of Horrors” (1986) #CineClásicoDeTerror, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of imaginaryfunny Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as a sketch to both please and laugh about stupid Canadian content statutes, the brothers transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
