In the video All Dave Thomas commercials, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was televised on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh at network Canadian content rules, the characters grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The brothers later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
