Bob is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by comic Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as a sketch to both please and laugh about legal Canadian content rules, the pair grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The pair became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
