In the video Beating up Rick Moranis and Jessica Alba’s weird 1998 guest shot on 90210, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s character is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was developed originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh about non sensical Canadian content laws, the duo morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
