Bob and Doug McKenzie in Beer Wars (Star Wars +Strange Brew)

In the video Beer Wars (Star Wars +Strange Brew), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a show which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh at annoying Canadian content statutes, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The pair enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
