Bob and Doug McKenzie in Best of Catherine O’Hara

In the video Best of Catherine O’Hara, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was aired on CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s part is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as filler to both please and laugh about dumb Canadian content laws, the brothers morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
