In the video Big Bully (1996) – David Leary (Rick Moranis) Vs. Rosco Bigger ‘Fang’ (Tom Arnold), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sold to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Although born originally as filler to both please and make fun of annoying Canadian content demands, the brothers transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The characters became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
