Bob and Doug McKenzie in Big Bully(1996) | Movie Review
In the video Big Bully(1996) | Movie Review, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hilarious Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a sketch which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s character is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously brought to life originally as a joke to both please and make fun of stupid Canadian content demands, the brothers turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The two soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
A review of the suprisingly decent time waster that is Big Bully(1996) starring Rick Moranis and Tom Arnold. I recorded this review months ago hence why the new chair is not present in the video and my hair is shorter.
I thought now was as good of a time as any to post the review. I got a handful of other older reviews I haven’t posted yet either that I recorded awhile back too that still need to be uploaded. I hope you enjoy this one though.

The actress that plays the elderly lady that shows know enthusiasm about Davids book when he's signing copies of it and claims that shes more of a Stephen King fan looks so familiar. I know I've seen her in other things but I just can't put my finger on what else I saw her in.
I always new that if I loved Little Giants that I would love this movie and I do and I LMAO everytime I watch it. I like how at the beginning the kid version of Rick Moranises character is the same kid version of his Danny O Shea character from Little Giants and the kid version of Tom Arnolds character is the same kid from Little Giants who used his helmet as a lunchbox.
I'm the only one who thinks this movie is not great but just average! (btw thoughts on The Amazing Panda Adventure?!)
Central intelligence was a similar movie

Bullying wasn't considered as serious in 1996 as it is today. That makes BIG BULLY an interesting time capsule. It's about a bully (Rosco "Fang" Bigger) and his victim (David Leary) running into each other after 20 years and their dynamic is still the same, and it's clearly trying to say something about what turns kids (or even adults) into bullies and how victims should deal with them… but the resolution is so rushed that whatever message is supposed to be conveyed gets lost. The story hinges on people not believing David's accusations against Fang, but it stops making sense after a while. A lot of the town's inhabitants knew about their history all along, and there are plenty of moments where Fang did something bad (not just to David) in front of others. Rick Moranis was known for playing over-the-top geeks. Here, he gets the chance to portray a man who does fall under the "nerd" category but still has a lot of charm and wit. It might be his most well-rounded performance. Tom Arnold's? Not so much. By the way, he doesn't even have a proper cinematic entrance. His first scene starts and he's… just there. There are times where David Newman's music score would have you believe that the scene is more important than what it actually is, so it distracts. There are scenes filmed like a stalker thriller, which clash with the comedic atmosphere (there's a hilarious moment in a bar where everyone stares at David and it feels straight out of a cartoon). There's an unpredictable plot twist involving Art Lundstrum (David's neighbor) that's funny on its own and it's even funnier in retrospective because of how it comes and goes without a more detailed explanation.
5/10
Another good review man. I love this film I have it. It's a a nice funny movie. It is a shame rick retired from acting not long after. But I know it was from his wife dying and raising his two kids. Kinda wish they made a second one.
At least the bully was kinda funny.
I love this flick. It's one of those films that gets better the more you watch it
It's a great movie and one of my favourite movies just a fun movie..
You should take another look at Fist Fight when it comes out on dvdbluray cause I thought that movie was pretty funny and everyone else in the theater was laughing a lot too not just me. It was one of those movies that was so funny my cheeks were hurting cause I was laughing so much!
Then again, Tom Arnold made 2 other movies that same year that were even worse than this one
i love this movie
Fair movie! saw this on video at 14 and thought it was ok but shame Rick Moranis retired from acting
