The character Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a sketch to both satisfy and laugh at silly Canadian content statutes, the brothers transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
