In the video Bob and Doug at the 1982 Juno awards, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hilarious Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was included on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s character is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as an idea to both satisfy and laugh at network Canadian content laws, the characters grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
