In the video Bob and Doug Crash Al’s 50th Birthday Party, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a sketch which was streamed on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob McKenzie is created by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. It was made originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh at silly Canadian content rules, the brothers became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The two went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
