In the video Bob and Doug McKenzie – 12 Days Of Christmas #bobanddougmckenzie #christmasmusic, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as an idea to both please and mock stupid Canadian content demands, the brothers turned into a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers enetually would become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
