In the video Bob and Doug McKenzie at My Father’s Place, WLIR 1982 (Audio Only), Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hilarious Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on second city television for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s partThe character Bob is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as a joke to both satisfy and makes jokes about silly Canadian content rules, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The characters later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
This recording is from my personal collection. You can read about this live Long Island appearance in Dave Thomas’ SCTV book. I thought this occurred on Saturday, February 6th, 1982, or possibly the Saturday after, but others in the comments recall it being a Thursday (and Rick Moranis does mention something about school). That seems odd to me, since I was 12 and wouldn’t have gotten home from school in time to tape it. I stopped the tape during commercials, and I’ve now edited out when they played the single, “Take Off.”

I was the guy who yelled Hey HoseHead! at 8:39 and he replied back Ya got me eh! HAHAHA!!
I taped it as well but only caught the beginning of it cuz I was there and tried to use a timer. That didn't work too well since they were late. I have the date as 2/11/82 (which is a Thursday.) Now I get to hear the whole thing!!
I was there! Had to call in sick to work. That was a fun show.

My best friend from high school and I were at this concert (she is the girl who asks for a kiss) and it was definitely not a Saturday because we cut out of school to attend. I just found this since My Father's Place re-opened and I googled out of curiosity.
It's great to see Americans appreciate the Canadian humor of these guys. Makes me happy to be from the Great White North.
