Bob’s part is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by Dave Thomas. Although made originally as fluff to both please and mock dumb Canadian content statutes, the siblings became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
