Bob and Doug McKenzie in Bob & Doug: “Comic Word Balloons”

In the video Bob & Doug: “Comic Word Balloons”, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a program which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Although made originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh about silly Canadian content legislation, the pair morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
