Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as an idea to both please and mock dumb Canadian content rules, the two transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
