Bob McKenzie is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by Dave Thomas. Which was born originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh at dumb Canadian content laws, the pair turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The pair went on to become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
