Comedy records come and usually never played again, so I play a few of these at “OffTheCharts!”, eh.
Bob & Doug Mc Kenzie is played by comedians and actors Rick Moranis (Bob) and Dave Thomas (Doug). They released a successful album “Great White North” in 1981 based on a series of sketches they featured on SCTV and CBC, eh.
“Great White North” yielded this record which made it to #16 in early 1982. Geddy Lee (Rush) provides the short chorus.
“Bob and Doug” were also in the movie, “Strange Brew” in 1983 which also enjoyed mild success, eh.
But Moranis and Thomas began taking other separate solo projects in the 80’s. They still had time to record as a duo even through 2009, when an animated series “Bob & Doug” premiered. Moranis did not voice “Bob” but did help with the production, eh.
