The character Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was created originally as an idea to both fulfill and make fun of network Canadian content laws, the siblings became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
