In the video Bob & Doug McKenzie, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as a joke to both please and make fun of annoying Canadian content demands, the characters morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
