A collection of TV spots starring Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas recreating their beloved Bob & Doug McKenzie characters to sell Molson product. BEAUTY EH! Extra special thanks to Daniel Swan for donating these classics to the Retrontario archive!
Retrontario’s primary mission is the preservation, research and exhibition of rare videotape recordings (1970s to 1990s) recorded off of any and all Ontario (and surrounding area) TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. We also hope to create an ongoing oral history of this content through comments left below the videos. Please add to this evolving history, if you know more information pertaining to the clips, fondly remember them or have a modern thought all comments are welcome! Eh, eh!
I don't remember any of these, eh.
The Golden Light one is reminding me of JoJo. Haha
They don't have the fly fishing commercial where they imply Molson's Beer tastes like flies?
Edit -- Never mind, found it @3:34
Hey Hozier, strange brew, eh? Love those clowns!
Real Toronto area Canada stuff. Bob and Doug 'nail it' for the last time in this commercial. I've never seen this bit, and I've lived in the GTA for 40 years. As both of these Canadian icons are still living, there should be a righteously financed 're-do' of the movie 'Strange Brew'.
I have to admit, every now and again I get wistfully nostalgic for unconvincing late '90s CGI.
Why is there a fake version of Curtis Mayfield's "little child runnin wild' in the bodybuilder one?
This is very funny, eh
