In the video Bob & Doug McKenzie – My Channel Inspiration #shorts, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s part is created by Rick Moranis and Doug is performed by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and make fun of network Canadian content guidelines, the brothers turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The characters soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
