In the video Bob & Doug McKenzie Take Off, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was aired on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as an idea to both satisfy and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The two later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

This song is one of my favorites. I liked it so much that when I first started to ice skate in competitions I used the first minute and a half to skate with. I set my jumps to when they said take off and I did to the Great White North and if I landed them properly it was a beauty way to go. Thanks for posting.
