In the video Bob & Doug McKenzie – Take Off (w/Geddy Lee from Rush), Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. It was born originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and make fun of non sensical Canadian content demands, the characters became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The characters soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
