In the video Bob & Doug McKenzie’s Great White North LP 1982 TV commercial, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian siblings who can been seen in “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by actor Dave Thomas. Which was brought to life originally as an idea to both please and laugh about stupid Canadian content statutes, the pair grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Anyone remember watching Bob and Doug featured in a parade on Yonge Street, Toronto? When Bob and Doug were at the height of their popularity.
I wore out one copy of that LP, and nearly wore out another.
Many years later, when I was ushering at a theatre, I found a scary-looking toque in the lobby after a show. I gave it to the House Manager, to put it in the Lost & Found, and he said, "You found Geddy Lee's favourite toque! His wife said he was so upset when he lost it!" The manager called Geddy's wife, who picked up the toque the next day.
