Bob and Doug McKenzie in Bob Dylan’s 12 Days of Christmas

In the video Bob Dylan’s 12 Days of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a show which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it moved to CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as an idea to both please and make fun of annoying Canadian content policies, the pair transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The two later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
