In the video Bonus Lesson! SCTV: Johnny Larue’s Secrets of Speed Drinking! (cc), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by comic Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a skit to both satisfy and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content laws, the characters became a pop culture success in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
