Bob and Doug McKenzie in BVK #17 – Strange Brew

In the video BVK #17 – Strange Brew, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it braodcast by CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. It was created originally as an idea to both please and make fun of dumb Canadian content policies, the brothers transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The brothers later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
